In Our Hands

- POSTED ON: Jun 20, 2011

Regarding our food intake and eating pattern:

It is ultimately in our own hands.....

What we choose to live with.
                   and
What we choose to live without.

"It is ultimately in our hands" added to my self-reflection on how I allowed myself to "binge" as a Father's Day celebration. No Boca burger, salad, fat free dressings, or watching my fiber, protein and fat intake was part of this last Saturday. "I chose" to have the 1/2 pound burger at Fuddruckers; movie popcorn and later ice cream cake for Dairy Queen. Later in the evening in indulged by having cherry cobbler (not portioned). That was Saturday -- now it is "in my hands" to go back on my true eating lifestyle. Small feelings of guilt were overwhelmed with stronger feelings of "I am going to allow this -- for this day!" Was it flirting with "falling off the wagon"? Yes and it is not something I would advise for all. But for me, "it was in my hands" to indulge for a day -- and now "it is in my hands" to eat right and exercise! Thank you for the reminder -- that it is "ultimately in our hands".
