Hi Phyllis! Ive just stumbled upon your website...awesome! I have a question regarding "the simple diet" by Dr James Anderson. I realize its calories in, calories out...however there seems to be a lot of carbs in those diet meals...what are your thoughts??

Thanks saublebound. the "simple diet" is one of many diets that I've experimented with over the years. I modified it to fit my own needs and tastes and found it an enjoyable way to eat while dieting. It is a replacement meal plan, essentially eating protein shakes and frozen food entrees of one's choice, with a limited amount of additional vegetables and fruits. The plan involves eating lots of processed foods, which are ordinarily higher carb, so I think it would take a great deal of creative effort for anyone to make it into a low carb diet. My thoughts are that those people who place a high value on eating unprocessed foods, or who want to follow a low-carb diet would probably not be happy with the "simple diet". I believe that each person needs to find a diet that is sustainable for them individually, because if you don't like the things you're eating while your losing weight, it's pretty much guaranteed that weight will be regained after you return to your preferred foods.
