I used to do the 2X a week, 24hr fasts. Lasted a year and a half-a record for me. I lost quite a bit of weight along with the NoS diet. But like everything else, I gave it up when overeating finally slipped in. I picked the same fast up again a few months ago and it only lasted 3 weeks this time. I enjoy eating three meals. It could also be I'm getting older and caring less about losing X amount of weight.

Hi AJ - Yeah, I pretty much hate my current plan and miss my Breakfast a great deal. at the beginning of the year, I I made a commitment to myself to try Intermittent Fasting from after dinner until lunch time until April 1 - and I have lost a bit of weight. I'm thinking about whether or not to keep that up till June 1, or to include a small meal - but I'd need to keep my calories the same, and it's really hard to stretch them out into 3 meals... I hear you about the desire to lose weight and getting older. Here at 71 years old, I calculate in my head how fast the weight creep upward is happening, and how many years of life I might expect to live ... Then, debate with myself about the value of my "joy of eating now" currently vs. with my risk of future obesity. The "joy of eating now" is starting to look more and more important, as my total lifespan dwindles down.

I have a question I see some people are doing the fasting, exactly how does this work when do you eat and when do you fast

Miss Marie, There are MANY different ways to fast. The best way to get info in one place here at DietHobby is ... on the right hand side of the page, see the section BLOG CATEGORIES... go down the list then click FASTING... Read the Blog Helpful Fasting Information. That Blog Category also has quite of few of my other fasting posts listed, so you might want to go to the beginning of that category & read some of my posts about Intermittent Fasting. .....................................^^^^^^^^^^^Okay, in answer to your question about how I am Personally fasting. My current plan is to eat nothing after dinner until lunch-time the following day. In that way, I eat nothing - and drink only non-caloric beverages...for after-dinner until the next day's lunch. Therefore, I fast from about 6 p.m. until 12 noon.. That's about an 18 hour fast. No SNACKING. Then, I fast between lunch until dinner, that's about 4 ½ to 5 hours... In this way, all of my eating food takes place in less than ½ hour at 12 and less than ½ hour around 5 p.m. AND NO OTHER EATING OF FOOD during that day. So... some would call that an 18 hour fasting window (between 6 p.m. & noon)... with a 6 hr eating window. Others would call it an 18 hr fasting window/ then a ½ hr eating window/ then a 5 hr fasting window (zero snacking)/ then a ½ hr eating window..... repeat, repeat etc. Mostly FASTING ... to me ... means a period of time with Zero food, only water, coffee, tea, and other non-caloric beverages. Personally, I allow my non-caloric beverages to be sweetened with artificial sweeteners.. some people don't. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^There are many ways of fasting, PERSONALLY, I don't consider eliminating some foods and allowing others to be fasting. To ME: fasting means eating zero food.
