Happy Easter 2012

- POSTED ON: Apr 08, 2012

Easter brings to mind a variety of things,

all of which involve the idea of new beginnings.

Spring is dressing up my yard with flowers,

and the sound of birds are mixing with the wind chimes

Doves are nesting in a few of the eves of my patio roof.

A new outlook is what Easter symbolizes.

Colored eggs, easter baskets, new clothing

are all tokens of celebration of life opening up

to fresh and new ideas.

It's a good  time to refresh my mind,

and realign my goals.

So I will.

Hi Phyllis :-) Happy Spring! I like the idea of refreshing my mind ... spring cleaning of the brain lol I think today I will really focus on getting rid of the negative and unproductive eating habits I have developed :-) My typing is still limited but I've decided to include a quick check-in here @ DietHobby in my daily computer activity :-) How is the "more vegetables" working for you? I'm also working on eating more vegetables, doctor's orders, my goal is 1/2 of my meal be veggies :-P Do you have a daily "veggie target"?

Hi Kimber, Happy Spring to you too. My suggestion is...focus on establishing positive and productive eating habits which will replace the negative...because a focus on the positive always works better than a focus on the negative. I am working to replace raw veggies for some of my poor snack choices, while working to normally incorporate a small lunch salad daily, and make it a point to have a small amount of cooked veggies with dinner daily. Small portions are an important tool for me, and I don't make an exception for low-calorie foods like vegetables. ...I eat those in small portions too.

Good morning Phyllis :-) Thank you for your gentle reminder ... you are right it is always better to focus on the positive! I have always admired your commitment to small portions; a virtue I'm working every day to acquire :-) I'm also adding a daily salad to my food plan and trying to eat 3 svgs of veggies w/both lunch and dinner ... I don't snack on veggies much ... I don't like many veggies raw :-( maybe after some time of eating more veggies I will develop a taste for them :-) more veggies can only be a good thing, right? Wishing you a wonderful day ... I'm off to take 2 of our 4 dogs to the vet :-P

Hi Kimber. I always love hearing from you. Yes... I also find those 100 calorie processed food snack packages full of refined carbs more appealing than raw veggies, but I'd rather stay my normal size, so I'm willing to eat more veggies if that will be helpful to me. Love to you and your doggies....and your cat too.
